Lift Your Spirit ~ “Joy In The Morning”

Hope. Trust. Faith. Joy.

Some days these things seem far away or foreign. You may have moments, days, weeks … where you question the existence of any of this. You too?

In your desperation your eyes take your view up. The Lifter of your head whispers: “Take hope, Daughter. Joy is on the horizon. Hold on … I’m working it out for you …”

But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Psalm 3:3 NIV

Perhaps your view has long been focused downward. That hanging twelve-pound head of yours starts to ache your neck as a subtle reminder that you were never meant to keep that perspective. As you gently try to rub out that gnawing pain, the pain in your heart cries out for healing and relief as well.

Again the whispers grow louder, “Hold on … joy is on the other side of all this …”

Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5b NKJV

Sweet Friend, I would look straight into your eyes and with every fiber that is in me, tell you that we can hold on until it (whatever ‘it’ is for you in this moment) is done. And there’s only One Person who puts the period at the end of every sentence. So until Jesus perfects the purpose in your situation, it’s not done.

Speaking from experience, I will add that even when we think it’s done, it’s not until He says it is good and complete. So, I’ve learned to wait expectantly (which means with a lot of hope that I will embrace what He declares good, which by the way, is usually far better than my own imagination).

And when He puts the period at the end of that sentence (season, situation, whatever you’re staring at), there will be joy.

Keep holding on. As long as you’re holding onto Jesus, you have nothing to worry about. You’re in Good Hands.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
