Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, Ephesians 3:20 ESV
Let me just break the ice here so we can both get into this conversation. I will admit to you (so that you can do the same) that I’ve questioned GOD about a decision (or two, or three, or four …) He has made on my behalf. And it usually sounds like this, “Um, GOD, are You sure about that?”
After pouring myself into prayer over a period of time, about a specific matter … believing that I knew what the outcome was going to be … and of course, I just knew GOD was going to see things ‘my way,’ He alerts me to the fact that I was way off. And that outcome was no where near my expectations.
In fact, Friend, the outcome is always far better … and never anything I would have imagined. However, the process that GOD took me through to get to the other side … that was more an issue than the original issue I was focused upon. Are you still with me?
When I try to control a situation (which is another way of saying that I don’t fully rely on GOD’s Will for me, AKA: lack of faith), I actually limit the possibilities and put a cap on how much GOD wants to really do in and for me. My human brain cannot think far enough out of the box that it sits in to remotely begin to comprehend the magnitude of His thoughts towards me.
You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
yet they are more than can be told. Psalm 40:5 ESV
I’ve got to tell you this, Sweet Friend: When you release it all, and all means all, He is more than able. But you have to make the intentional decision to let it go.
In the short time that I’ve been actively practicing this (because I’m a work in progress), life has shifted. My faith has enlarged. Trust is not something to consider — it’s become the first response. I know that I am fully cared for.
You have nothing to lose except the worry about this or that. The One Who is the Alpha and the Omega has already gone there to the end because He is the eternal One. So, why wouldn’t you want to trust yourself to the One Who knows far more and wants to blow your mind with amazing things?
Better than me telling you — is you just taking Him at His Word and experiencing it for yourself. You will wish you had done trusted Him sooner and with more of your life. GOD will not disappoint. Come and see …
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
