Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
It’s no secret: life is hard. I don’t even have to ask for an ‘Amen,’ I can hear you shouting, see you tapping the screen to throw a high five or fist bump, and I can certainly see you nodding your head, Sister.
And if I may be so bold as to say that there have been far too many times that I mistakenly thought GOD had forgotten me when I was walking that path that felt like every other step was a pothole or even a ditch. When the darkness all around me seemed to choke out what little light I kept believing was at the end of the crazy journey. Sometimes my thoughts would runaway and I would think that GOD just was too busy to even look in my direction. That He was preoccupied with more important people and things.
When you’re constantly focused on the the hard thing and how much harder it is for you to keep going, the few words of, “Hang in there” just really don’t seem to have any effect on how you feel about yourself or your situation. “Why would I want to hang on to such an ugly situation? I don’t want to hang in here — I want OUT!”
Sweet Friend, don’t hang in there. Yes, you heard me right. Because I want you out of there, too!
And so does Jesus. His Hands are outstretched towards you at this very moment. Look up. He has made the way. He is The Way.
That desert you’re in — that’s so you can make the decision to reach up for The Way by calling on Him. He’s waiting for you. He’s already made a way for you out of that mess. And the best news is that He will keep walking the rest of your journey with you — He doesn’t stop when the circumstances change. There isn’t a moment in your life that He will expect you to “figure it out.”
I am so convinced that if you called on His Name He would hear you and set you on the way to getting closer to Him and out of that mess. And there’s no way that He will disappoint. The Son of GOD has full reign over your situation. It’s time to trust Him with it. If you’re wrestling with something, obviously what you’re doing isn’t working — otherwise you wouldn’t still be there. Let that sit with you for a bit.
Let Him ease your burden, Friend. He’s just a prayer away. And you don’t even need internet for that.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
