Growing up some of us were not privy to an environment that included all the elements necessary to cultivating a mindset of self-appreciation. There’s an old phrase that says, “Grass is always greener on the other side.” The truth behind that statement is that the green is not on the lawn but in our eyes. Let that sit with you for a bit.
Looking at what others have will usually. cause us to forget and neglect the blessings of what we already have, to the point we start wanting what they have. When we stop to think about, we haven’t had the opportunity to even experience the wonder and awesomeness of what is right under our nose.
“Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness,
you who seek the Lord:
look to the rock from which you were hewn,
and to the quarry from which you were dug. Isaiah 51:2 ESV
Comparison truly does kill. It kills the life out of who we’ve not become.

Oh wow, was that great! So many good messages in that! I could relate to everything especially the coffee, lol. I could not believe she talked about Auschwitz at the end! I’m going to a special exhibit Saturday Is that the Reagan library. It is about Auschwitz. My book club will be reading “Mans Search for Meaning.” Which I have read. Lisa message was do not stay a prisoner. It is just so like God to put that at the end of her sermon! She is indeed unique. Loved it! I just lead a meeting about envy and comparison.
