Lift Your Spirit – “Access”

5 Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God. This happened through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. ³ We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. ⁴ And patience produces character, and character produces hope. ⁵ And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

⁶ When we were unable to help ourselves, at the right time, Christ died for us, although we were living against God. ⁷ Very few people will die to save the life of someone else. Although perhaps for a good person someone might possibly die. ⁸ But God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.

⁹ So through Christ we will surely be saved from God’s anger, because we have been made right with God by the blood of Christ’s death. ¹⁰ While we were God’s enemies, he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Surely, now that we are his friends, he will save us through his Son’s life. ¹¹ And not only that, but now we are also very happy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we are now God’s friends again. Romans 5:1-11 NCV

We can approach GOD because of Jesus. The work of Jesus on this earth in human form opened the gates of heaven and made it possible for us to have a real-time relationship with GOD. Not only do we get eternity with Him, but we can live in victory before we get there and experience the joy of knowing Him up close and personal.

That’s pretty remarkable, wouldn’t you agree?

Read through those passages of Scripture, and then again slowly and intentionally. As if you’re on a safari, seek with purpose on purpose, and expect to find. And I believe that if you do this with a genuine heart to know the Lord in that intimate way, you’ll find that He not only invites you to dine with Him, but to also stay.

Perhaps you’ve not taken the time that is long overdue ~ to examine what path you’re on or why. Maybe you’ve been on the ‘same ol road’ that seems to circle back to the same spot you’ve been trying to escape from, and you’re flat out miserable. It’s time to get real, Friend.

At the end of the day, are you feeling stuck or trapped in a never-ending cycle of drama and no forward motion? Can you look in the mirror and be truly satisfied with who you see? With no one looking, are you apt to let it all come flooding out only to have to tuck it all back in when you appear in public?

Jesus is waiting to have that conversation with you ~ He is more than eager to hear your voice and to have you let it all out without the edits, deletes or rewrites. You’ll have no one to impress. Just be yourself. Yes, you can finally exhale, Friend.

As you have that conversation, listen to this worship song … it will ‘hit that spot.’ You’ll know what I mean when you go there.
