8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Let this all just bring you to a holy pause. Yes, right here and now. There is no such thing as coincidence ~ GOD ordained for you to be right where you are at this moment, to lay your eyes on this mini segment that foretells of the story of that first Christmas night.
And just as the people of that day, that were going about their daily lives, not thinking of the possibility that just maybe GOD would bend down to pierce their very lives with His Presence, the world today zips around in a frenzy, ignoring His gentle whispers that beckon us to pause and recognize Him.
Immanuel. GOD with us. He. Is. With. Us.
How does that sit with you in this breath? The very exhalation that you just experienced without much thought was all made possible by the baby that came to remind us that He came to reconnect us to the Father. He came as you and I do ~ entering the world through the miracle of birth. And it was the most humble of all appearances ~ in a cave surrounded by barn animals and the people of the lowest economic strata.
Sharing this with you is an invitation to make room for Him in your heart today. Nothing to earn to get an audience with Him. Just speak, Friend. Don’t try to get cleaned up to impress Him. He saw what you’ve done, whom you were with, the damage caused by your poor decisions, and how many times you ran from Him ~ especially when you heard Him call.
And He still remains right there where you are ~ waiting for you to just sit and talk with Him. Have your “come to Jesus meeting” ~ it’s time.
The Good Shepherd longs to lead you and guide you, and to show you more of Himself.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~

*Thank you to The Chosen for this.

Hi Linda sitting here at my office desk sobbing because what you wrote is affecting me.This year I’m learning of the Holy birth of our savior. I didn’t think I could be any more transform or learn so much or love God and thank him for showing me favor I do rest in his favor. I change people around me too and they are seeing the light in me around them and in themselves. What a gift Jesus has to offer. I come across atheists in my 12-step group and they don’t say they are they say agnostic. I can see how I was like them with no direction or purpose in life. I pray these people are transform like I was I can’t write much more my dear friend and sister I need to give these moments to GodSent from my Galaxy
