“God takes His time in developing strong fruit.” ~ Chrystal Evans Hurst
I thoroughly enjoy walking through a beautiful garden. The array of colors testify to the creativity and mastery of our Creator GOD.
When a garden is filled with blooms and vegetation, the sights and smells are mind-blowing. Never in a million years could humanity even think to initiate such wondrous color palates and aromas.
I recognize that what I see did not happen overnight. There had to be the planting of the seed, the exposure to the sun, the watering of the stems, the fertilization of the soil … and the time to just let it be and undergo the natural process that GOD scripted for each landscape species.
In most cases, it takes a season or two before there is evidence of all that labor. But when those first blooms or fruits appear, what a gorgeous sight to behold! And part of the celebration seems to come from a place of expectant waiting.
When it’s all said and done, we seem to forget how long it took. All that matters is that the end results are now visible and available to enjoy.
Such is the case with our own personal growth.
We anticipate the manifestation of growth or character development or changes, dreams and aspirations, and we (almost) demand that it happen overnight. Or at least within twenty-four hours from the moment of our prayerful request. 😉
But GOD is merciful, and would not think to allow these huge changes to our persona and our lives to happen with such haste because He knows us too well and is always seeking to protect us ~ often from ourselves.
Some of the things we pray for … would probably destroy us if we were granted overnight access. GOD graciously holds back to allow for us to be prepared (mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and sometimes physically) to receive His answer.
The amazing part about this season of pause is that it is tailored to who we are. Only GOD could do that with exact precision. And that’s why it’s so important to rely on His Timing.
Join me for a break and listen to this powerful message from Chrystal Evans Hurst. You’ll want to replay it a few times just to let the lesson within it minister and sink into your soul.
