Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 ESV
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. His mother Mary was engaged to marry Joseph, but before they married, she learned she was pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Mary’s husband, Joseph, was a good man, he did not want to disgrace her in public, so he planned to divorce her secretly.
20 While Joseph thought about these things, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream. The angel said, “Joseph, descendant of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the baby in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this happened to bring about what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will be pregnant. She will have a son, and they will name him Immanuel,” which means “God is with us.” Matthew 1:18-22 NCV
Incomprehensible love appeared the night Jesus came to earth as an infant.
If you think that there is no way out of the troubled situation you are presently in, you’ve got it all wrong, Friend. Your answer to all that turmoil was wrapped in swaddling clothing and laid in an in animal’s feeding trough, waiting to meet up with you.
Perhaps your understanding of Christmas is the commercialism and rushing around to create the perfect holiday setting. It’s possible that you’ve been missing out on the real reason for the Christmas celebration all along.
That isolated moment in history when only livestock and a few shepherds encircled a tiny baby and His fatigued parents in a shelter unfit for humans to dwell, was the most important occurrence the world would ever know ~ but completely overlook.
Little has changed in two thousand years. Many of us are caught up in the hustle of life; some not even pausing to think of what all the commotion is about.
My prayer for you this CHRISTmas season is one of true embrace of all that entered into the world so that you and I wouldn’t have to struggle for all the wrong reasons.
Love came down ~ literally ~ from Heaven to love on you and show you that GOD truly loves you beyond your wildest imagination. There is nothing that could change His unstoppable pursuit of you. YOU (and I) are why He came.
That very moment was when the whole world changed,
