There’s a reason we say something occurred in the past ~ because that’s where it belongs!
As women, we have the gift of retaining unbelievably keen details about events that should be archived; but too often we keep them as fresh as the coffee that was just brewed.
While memories are intended to bring us joy, that requires that we savor the benefits of the ones we cherish or replay in our minds. GOD does not call us to ‘forget’ the lessons learned. Instead, I believe that those hallmark lessons are to be remembered for the grace of seeing the blessings in them ~ what we learned about the loving, faithful, and trustworthy nature of GOD, how He desires us to move forward, and how we are to treat others in the future (that begins with our next breath).
Unfortunately, our human selves have the incredible ability to instantly recall negative events with such clarity, that we disable our connection to the Voice of Holy Spirit. And there we are ~ stuck.
