How was your week, Friend? Are you sailing into the weekend with the wind beneath you and a huge smile on your face because you absolutely killed it? I am so happy for you!
For those who aren’t quite celebrating their circumstances, I invite you to take a praise break, right here and now, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing … because you woke up to see and hear this. So, you do still have something worthy of a ‘whoohoo’ ~ that small miracle of breath and life ~ to be thankful for.
Join me for a few seconds of reflection, will you?
I rarely (if ever) have a perfect week (or day for that matter). However, I am learning (notice the ‘present tense’ of that verb ~ because often times, the present can be tense!) to practice being thankful and praise GOD in all things. It’s not easy, and I often have to slow my pace down to inhale Holy Spirit so I can exhale peace. Yes, you read that right.
What does that look like?
When I experience a wonky moment in real time, I try to remember to hit the pause button (yes, right then) and look up and praise GOD for the breath in that moment. Breath in my lungs is always something I am thankful for, because it’s a good indicator that I’m alive and there are things still requiring my attention ~ so, GOD isn’t done with me yet!
In that split millisecond of time, I’ve redirected my focus on to the One that truly matters. That weird incident that just happened, He knew it was gonna hit, but didn’t leave me, and He’ll do the same for you. In fact, He remained so that you and I could lean into Him and press harder into our faith in Him to hold us firm. That’s faithfulness.
That’s the character of the Magnificent One, King Jesus. He has already overcome and defeated the giants of life that nag at us and keep us feeling defeated. We are not defeated; we are just deceived into thinking that. We must practice preaching that to ourselves.
Best way to do that is to sing it!
If I were there with you right now, I’d pull you up off that seat and get you to look up and start shouting praise like you’ve never done before. And trust me, you won’t be the same after.
Come, Friend, let’s give praise before the breakthrough, until we have walked all the way through.
I’m praying for you …
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
