“Uncomplicate It” Permission to Enjoy God in Your Unique Way by Hosanna Wong
I was piqued by the title of this book (by one of my favorite authors) because I wanted to lean into my current season. And Hosanna Wong delivers (as she always does).
If you’re tired of the ‘wordsy’ (I just believe that’s a word; my apologies if it hasn’t yet entered the Miriam Webster world) and over-involved multi-step prescribed routines that are ‘sure-to-get-you-from-where-you-are-to-where-you-want-to-be,’ this very uncomplicated book is your next read.
In her very warm, inviting, and humorous manner, Hosanna Wong brings her reader into a safe place to just get real and up close with Jesus. You will feel connected from the moment you land in the Italian vineyard to the farm memories shared with Papa Bill. There will be the a-ha here and there and continuously throughout the book as Hosanna shares her well-grounded Biblical insight and helps you to understand the untangling process.
I’ll be honest here ~ I read this book and digested it at a slower (than usual) pace because I realized how much I just needed to press into what she had to tell me. And like having my own ‘holy hang’ with her (when you read the book you’ll know), it all clicked. Every time I picked up the book to read, I instantly felt as though I were in a cozy coffee shop sitting with a dear friend.
Solo outbursts of laughter, silent introspective pauses, and joy-filled engagement … and I thoroughly loved every down-home minute of it (including the convicting ones). Because Hosanna helped me feel that Jesus-closeness I was hoping for. And she spoke truth into my space.
Get the book and dive in, Girlfriend. You will not be disappointed.
“Hosanna, girl, you put so many feelings into tangible words. The freedom to experience God is real when you let Holy Spirit take the reins and just live the Jesus way. Thank you for being the holy cheerleader that you are! Keep doing what you’re doing!”
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
