And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV
With all the decisions in life, I’m sure that you’ve had your share of big ones and little ones. Some of those decisions took a lot of energy, resources, lengthy discussions … and some of those decisions took a few nights of sleep from us as well.
Whatever they were and the complexity of each one of them, I’m confident that we could agree that arriving at the right decision in every situation was never easy.
But when we finally land on that ‘decisive’ moment, there usually is a brief exhalation or sigh of relief … until the next one.
Let me settle right there, Friend. That decisive moment.
There’s a lot of emotion wrapped in that non-tangible but so-REAL-you-can-taste-it moment.
Depending on the situation, emotions could range from delight and sheer joy to grief and sorrow.
The ‘finality’ of the moment. It says you’re not turning back.
That’s what this praise song is. A declaration that no matter what the circumstances are, you have made the conscious decision to serve the Lord and your family is going with you.
If you are on the side of heaven that aligns with this proclamation, you’re jumping for joy, too. However, if you are sitting on the fence and haven’t yet surrendered your life to the lordship of Jesus Christ, you’re not in on the celebration (yet ~ I’m praying for you).
Essentially, choosing to say ‘yes’ to Jesus is choosing life. Because He breathes it into you.
Find out for yourself how good the Lord is.
Happy are those who find safety with him. Psalm 34:8 GNTIf you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:13 NLT
It is my deepest prayer is that if you’re still not convinced that Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with you, regardless of what your past may look like (and to be clear, Jesus is GOD ~ so He saw it all when it happened), or even what your present looks like, that you’ll at least ask Him to reveal Himself to you so that you can make that decision.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
