Lift Your Spirit ~ “Walk Through the Fire”

King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Daniel 3:1 NIV

Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.” Daniel 3:4-6 NIV

12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:12

13 Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, 14 and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? Daniel 3:13-14 NIV

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18 NIV

I don’t need to ask you if you’re presently going through ‘something.’ Chances are, you’re in the throes of it and would rather wish it away or are praying that it would all just magically fade away never to return.

Allow me to reach across the internet airwaves and extend a hug. I am so sorry you’re dealing with your situation. Whatever it looks and feels like, I know that GOD sees you in it and feels your agony as well.

When I’ve gone through the hard stuff in my life, I can attest to it feeling like going through the fire, as I’m sure you can too.

It is in these ugly moments that often our only words are, “GOD, help me!” That’s all we need to say, and we can be assured that He does hear us.

Relief … that’s that thing we find hard to describe when we need it most. And truthfully, I believe that’s because we really don’t know what is best case scenario for us, minus all the emotional tidal waves we are swept up in. We are an emotional train wreck, riding the twists and turns while trying to catch our breath.

But GOD …

He is fully able to save us from the most catastrophic and devastating of all that could possibly happen. Yet, if He chooses that we walk through the fire of our situations, He promises that He will not abandon us in it. In fact, for whatever divine reason, He will make all things work out. So, don’t give up!

As distasteful as it can be, we really don’t know the power of GOD until He’s all we have to rely upon. It’s in that fire of crisis that we will come face-to-face with Him and know that He is Who He says He is.

We cannot give up, Friend. And we must link arms and raise them in prayer and praise believing the breakthrough is on its way.

I’m praying for you.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
