Lift Your Spirit ~ “There Is No One”

My Lord, there is no God like you.
No one can do what you have done. Psalm 86:8 ERV

Have you stepped out of your front door lately and just looked up into the sky? Pause and wonder for a moment: how did all that come to be?

The birds that flew overhead, the billowy clouds that float from east to west, the hues of the sunset as the day draws to a close, the laughter of the children running in the background … it all was intentionally placed there for your eyes to enjoy.

GOD spoke and it was.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NIV

In fact, the very air you breathe ~ we take for granted what it takes for that to even happen. The breath that we draw into our nostrils, filtering as it travels down into our lungs, and distributes throughout our bodies, giving life to our complex brains and internal organs that keep the entire system working.

Yes, we are indeed complicated beings.

Moving about, doing all the things we find to do, not giving much thought to what our Master Creator GOD has designed within us and for us.

We live from one miracle to the next, often neglecting to acknowledge, much less give thanks, to Him who has shielded us from devastation and destruction. You know, we didn’t have to wake up this morning ~ we are not entitled to demand that grace.

And yet, we are gifted with it.

The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Psalm 103:8 NLT

The ocean still stops at the breakwater point at the shoreline. The sun and moon remain exactly where they were originally placed. Seasons continue to come and go as they always have at their appointed time of year.

The human population continues to grow and death still grieves our hearts.

And the GOD who said He would never leave us nor forsake us is still on the throne, in full control of it all, whether it’s chaos or calm, in the silence and in the storm, on the battlefield and on the playground.

When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
Isaiah 43:2 NLT

We not only serve the Sovereign GOD, but we have been invited to engage with Him and know Him. Yes, He makes time for us, individually, for a one-to-One relationship. In my eyes, that’s pretty cool, considering all the crummy stuff in my life.

Everyday we have that invitation to “come.” Just as we are. Messy, grimy, confused, half-out-of-our-minds … He says, “come.”

Come and experience a relationship with the GOD who created and designed you with so much love that you are uniquely you and and there is no possibility of a duplicate. Come and experience a joy that is unlike anything imaginable, and that you can still have in the middle of a storm or battlefield.

Come …

“Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 ERV

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
