Lift Your Spirit ~ “Broken Me”

10 Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. Luke 16:10 CSB

6 “Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by God. 7 Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows! Luke 12:6-7 GNT

This was one of those moments when I was watching The Chosen that I could not hold back the tears. Season 3, episode 2 ~ Jesus and Little John have a very poignant and intimate conversation in a garden.

In this episode, Jesus has just given His Disciples their individual assignments ~ marching orders, so to speak. How many times have we prayed, “Lord, please tell me what my earthly assignment is,” only to find out that it’s not exactly what we wanted to hear, much less, far from what we had envisioned to see?

Stirring in the heart of Little John is a burning question that many of us have harbored, “How do You expect me to do __________, when I am such a broken person?”

I think that too often we perceive our visible imperfections (which are as such when we compare ourselves to others whose imperfections are hidden from us) as limitations to what GOD can do through us. Our focus has far too long been on what appears out of sync in the eyes of man, rather than on what is possible when surrendered into the mighty Hand of GOD.

In this episode, the theme drives a deeper thought-provoking moment when Jesus reveals that in light of what we consider as un-useful or inadequate, the fact that GOD still calls us is the heart of the miracle. Our perceived ‘lack’ does not change His trust and belief in us to still be part of the miracle. He trusts us with our earthly imperfections and our brokenness, because from it we can impact the world around us. Let that sit with you for a minute.

Whatever you may be wrestling with today, Friend, I know that this will speak into your situation. Perhaps you may want to take some time today to revisit this scene in The Chosen to fully grasp the message of what GOD may be saying about your situation.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
