Numbers 7:89 Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.
During my morning time with The Lord, this passage caught my heart ~~ and it kept drawing my attention. It spoke to me as the place of grace ~~ that special moment ~~ wherein God is in communion with me ~~ with YOU.
The Holy Place of Atonement ~~ is where God Himself speaks to us.
That place is where Jesus meets up with us. We are confronted with His Presence. And He is there ~~ all of Him ~~ for all of us. And He’s not telling us to change before His Confrontation ~~ He beckons us to remain still right there ~~ and will deal with us and our stuff.
Girlfriend ~~ I’ll confess to you here ~~ that in my earlier Christ-Following days, I thought I had to become ‘ceremonially clean’ before Jesus would even bat an eyelash to me. I once thought that I had to be ‘perfectly whole’ in order for Him to even want to ‘deal with me.’ But as I’ve grown up (a bit more over the years), I’ve come to understand that it is He Who grows me through character development. The development that can only occur through submission to His Will (and ultimately His foreordained circumstances). So there’s ups and downs in there ~~ peaks and valleys ~~ joys and sorrows.
But one thing I know for certain ~~ God always meets me in the right spot/moment every time ~~ at the place of Grace ~~ through Jesus Christ.
Regardless of the present situation ~~ and yes, I’m also speaking of THOSE MOMENTS where the rest of the world doesn’t seem to ‘get it,’ or I feel so ‘alone’ and misunderstood ~~ God meets me there at the place of Grace. Where I lay it all down at His Feet ~~ at the foot of the Cross ~~ He meets me there. Sometimes bloody and beaten up ~~ eyes swollen from sobbing through the night ~~ disappointed and weary from trying to figure things out ~~ searching for a glimmer of light in what seems like an eternity of darkness …
He meets me there ~~ at the Place of Grace.
And while He doesn’t always provide what I deem to be an obviously ‘clear cut’ answer to my questions, He does reassure me that I am NOT living life on my own ~~ that even in what appears to be silence ~~ He is always there with and for me.
I’ve come to learn that Place of Grace is a sanctuary from the world ~~ and in the midst of what feels like the ugliest day ever ~~ there is no door ~~ I simply have to humble my soul long enough to hear His Voice ~~ becoming purposefully silent (that can be a real challenge at times) to receive His whispers of Grace and Wisdom. Sometimes that comes through prayer ~~ sometimes through reading His Word ~~ sometimes through a Pastor/Preacher or Sister-in-Christ ~~ whatever means He sees fit to use …
He meets me and YOU at that place of Grace.
“What are YOU needing from Our Great and Awesome God this day?”
I encourage you, Girlfriend, go to meeting ~~ Jesus is calling you to meet up with Him …
At the Place of Grace.
And there you will find rest for your soul.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
