“Too Good For Words”

Romans 15:13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Girlfriend, have you ever experienced that “oh, so good, I can’t find the words to describe it,” feeling?

I love how this tiny Scripture verse just captures so many emotions ~~ using so few words.

The established fact that God is the source of our hope ~~ that is an awesome place to begin our thought process. He is our hope ~~ not the One to lead us to or even show us from where to retrieve hope ~~ but He is our source of all hope. This reassures me that whatever is going on in my life ~~ wherever I may find myself ~~ regardless of the circumstances and present situation ~~ He is the source of my hope.  My hope for dealing with ~~ getting through ~~ living in ~~ aspiring to ~~ reaching for ~~ He is my hope.  No need to seek any additional resources or enhancements ~~ period.

He will fill me completely with joy and peace.  Not lacking so that I will need to fill any “gaps” or supplement with acts of “goodness.”  And to satisfaction ~~ fullness of joy and peace.  That satiated sensation ~~ you know, like when you’ve experienced the perfect meal after being hungry.

Inexpressible joy and peace ~~ joy goes so far beyond simply being happy.  And peace calms the weariness right out of the soul.  God will give us both ~~ spilling over the top elation that flows from the very depths of the soul He created ~~ calm like no other rest that could humanly be achieved.

All of this because we trust in Him.

This is the foundation of the Promise ~~ joy and peace are ours because we have chosen to live our lives trusting Him.

And as if it couldn’t get any better …

We will be overflowing with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

My human flesh is not a confident person. As a result of past life experiences, I grew up a terribly insecure and timid child.  That child grew into an adult with the same insecurities, lacking confidence for many of life’s tasks.  It’s something I wrestle with daily ~~ a wrestling match that begins with me letting go and casting it all onto The Lord.

So when this verse leaped out at me this morning during my communion time with God, I exhaled ~~ into His Arms ~~ into His Confidence ~~ that He breathes into me the Confidence to live and accomplish His Work ~~ with joy and peace.

Girlfriend ~~ it’s a life-long process ~~ but that’s what our life is for ~~ the process.  It is in the process that we are molded, developed, purified ~~ it is in the process that we experience joy and peace so we can confidently perform His Work …

It is in the process that we learn how to bring alongside the ones coming up behind us.

And I can’t help but be exited for both you and me ~~ we are given exactly what we need ~~ daily, moment by moment …

I pray that you have chosen to trust in Him ~~ so that your life is constantly filled to overflowing with all joy and peace …

You have been given confidence to get His Work done.

Even if you can’t find “the words to express” the goodness of God.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
