I started my new job two weeks ago. On the first day, I went exploring and came across this! And you know me … my brain and mind just went with it …
As Followers of Christ, we are identified with Him ~~ but to an unbelieving world, it is how we serve that testifies to our true kinship with Him.
There’s a time and a place for everything, and the workplace is a sensitive place when it comes to the discussions of politics and religion. However, I’m a firm believer that those who see you, should also see the Messiah coming through you. In everything we say and do, we represent the One to Whom we have entrusted with our earthly and eternal lives. So it isn’t necessary to stand on a ‘platform’ and deliver a salvation message, or call a ‘come to Jesus meeting’ in order for others to ‘witness’ your living legacy.
Everything we say and do, every decision we make, is always for the ones coming up behind us.
Our living legacy is our relationship with Christ, and our purpose in serving Him is demonstrated in the way we relate to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and also the way we relate to unbelievers.
With our mouths closed, our identification in The Body of Christ is defined.
1 John 4:11-13 NLT Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
“What does your service look like?”
Sometimes we forget to look into the mirror ~~ beyond the exterior wardrobe ~~ beneath the tough skin ~~ there must be a tender heart that beats to the rhythm of purpose that sings a song of salvation ~~ to the tune of love for a dying world.
I pray that you’ll join me in a personal inventory and make whatever adjustments the Lord is calling you to make this day.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
