It’s hard to imagine God rejoicing over me. Honestly, when I truly think about all that I’ve done throughout the course of my life ~~ it’s more embarrassing to consider some of those occurrences.
But God (sweetest words in all the human language) …
Genuinely rejoices over me ~~ over you.
And to me that’s huge. A very big deal, Girlfriend.
Our verse says He lives among us ~~ which is many times very embarrassing, too, because I’m human (we are all human) and I err a lot. To think that He “desires” to be among us is humbling, to say the very least ~~ wouldn’t you agree? There are days that I don’t think I would want to dwell with me ~~ much less, to think that the Lord of the Universe would want to ~~ and because of His great Love, He chooses to ~~ daily.
And it is His Love that calms my fears. Why do I tend to forget that? Am I so distracted by the cares of this world ~~ by my temporary circumstances ~~ that I lose sight of the fact that God is ever-present, ready to steady me through my “moment” of challenge? And then to rejoice over me with songs of gladness? Unbelievable!
I don’t see myself as worthy of His delight ~~ nonetheless, He is God, and He does. And Sister, He delights over you, too. All I can say to that is: “Have mercy!”
Reading a commentary, I found that the delight expressed here by God is likened to the delight a groom finds in his bride. As the way Christ (the Groom) delights in His Church (the Bride). Eyes beaming and heart overflowing with love.
It is my hope that this day, Sister, that no matter what you are experiencing on the planet, that you will remember that our Heavenly Father loves you ~~ delights in you ~~ rejoices over you with songs of gladness.
Because you are in Christ.
