Testimony Thursday by Guest Writer: “Patty”

My journey towards a relationship with Jesus began 24 years ago.  I learned of the love of my Heavenly Father when my earthly father was diagnosed with cancer, and experienced God’s mercy when my mom became severely ill with the likelihood she would not to survive her illness.

The seed was planted when my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  He had been a man of the world, preoccupied with working and playing.  When he received the diagnosis, he was despondent, filled with grief.

But a friend introduced Him to Christ and through this sharing my father’s heart supernaturally changed in that moment.  I saw a transformation and experienced the forgiveness he felt through Christ. Shortly after receiving Jesus as his Lord and savior, he entered paradise to spend the rest of eternity with Him.

Years later, my mom became severely ill. At one point, I was told she would not make it through the night.  I called a friend in Christ and she prayed through the night with me and thankfully, by the grace of God, she made it through to see the next day.  Following that event, and the transformation of my dad, my mom and I knew we needed to give our lives over to Christ and begin a new life.

Since those early days of my faith, I have continued to grow through trials, disappointments and the constant evidence of Jesus being in the middle of it all sustaining me in His strength and love.

This was and is still evident in my life as I am surrounded by loving and gracious friends who I call my “Sisters in Christ”.  They have been by my side and prayed with me and over me in the darkest of times.  I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit each time I have been met with disappointment, abuse and despair.  I lean on my Lord and Savior’s promises and faithfully wait on Him to guide me. I am eternally grateful for the trials that led me to Him and the change of heart that keeps me following Him daily.

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him- Psalm 37:23

It has been the greatest joy knowing I am deeply loved by God and that He knows exactly what I need and when I need it.   Grateful to sisters who have lifted me up in prayer and sustained me with the Word and reminded me that our hope is in our ever-loving Father.

We thank you, Patty, for sharing your heart and your Testimony of GOD’s love and grace in your life. Your contribution to Testimony Thursday this month is well appreciated!

You are loved to Heaven and Back, Patty ~~

  1. Patty thank you so much for sharing your testimony and encouragement as how the Lord reached out to you and was so faithful to you and your parents. My Dad too was diagnosed with terminal cancer and accepted the Lord a couple of weeks before stepping into eternity. So grateful that they are with their Lord and Savior, and we too will be there one day.
May the Lord continue to watch over you and bless you abundantly ❣️
    In His love,
    Sharon

  2. Patty, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful testimony. Your words touched my heart & spirit deeply as you shared your love & faith in our loving & faithful GOD even when walking through a life of trials & storms. I know how difficult it is to walk through these storms — BUT GOD — never leaves us or forsakes us … He walks alongside us or carries us through. I, too, am thankful for ALL of the trials & storms He has walked/carried me through—much like yours. Our GOD IS truly a good, good Father! May He bless you abundantly with His love, grace, and mercy, my sister. 🙏🏻❤️
