Trusting God Thursday

There are just some days when it feels like you’re sitting in cement — like completely surrounded by tons of hard stuff — because everything seems hard. Anyone else?

Whatever your situation is right now, Friend, it might be a bank account that is dwindling, those bills that are demanding payment, the gas tank that is running on fumes, the near empty refrigerator, the blank space on the form reserved for ’employment.’ All of it. Every last bit of it.

You may be asking, “How is that possible? You don’t know my situation … it’s ugly.”

Friend, you are not alone in that dark, ugly place. But as your Friend, I offer you my hand to lift you out of that pit. Together we will believe that GOD will bring good out of our messiest situations.

So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. Romans 8:28 The Passion Translation

In GOD’s sovereign wisdom, He pre-planned for the best outcome for us through the workings of what we think is catastrophic and disastrous. Do we understand it? No. And the best part is that He doesn’t expect us to understand or comprehend any of it. But He does ask us to TRUST Him as He walks the journey with us.

For you are my only hope, Lord! I’ve hung on to you, trusting in you all my life. Psalm 71:5 The Passion Translation

I raise my hand to having walked that wonky stride through some very heavy days. Where I had to do a lot of self-talk to take every step. I had to make the decision to reach for the only One Who had the means to what seemed like the impossible. All the positive thinking in the world, all the self-help advice spoken and read, all the worldly affirmations — none of it moved my situation or improved my mental or emotional condition.

But GOD … when I made the intentional choice to extend myself to Him … to let Him have it all … that’s when things began to turn around.

Did it happen instantaneously? No. Did my circumstances immediately disappear? Absolutely not.

But I had peace. Sweet surrender peace.

You can manipulate some things to change the surface of circumstances — appearances can provide temporal relief. But peace … that’s something that you can’t manufacture. It has to be given. And you can receive it.

With perfect peace you will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust you. Isaiah 26:3 God’s Word Translation

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 New Living Translation

I’ve learned some hard lessons from being in those really hard concrete places. One of those lessons that I won’t forget is that I don’t live this life alone, nor am I expected to do life alone. Better yet, I don’t have to be superhuman to do life well. GOD offers me peace in exchange for my hard situations if I will just TRUST Him for the strength and the outcome.

I encourage you, Friend, to let down that heavy load you’re carrying — the worry, the anxiety, the entire burden — and cast it into His Hands. They’re much bigger and stronger than yours. They’re known for miraculous changes.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~

  1. Oh my sweet sister, I simply don’t have adequate words to tell you how you have spoken to my heart, mind, and spirit through your words today — truly you have allowed GOD to speak through you because every single word spoke directly to me & my present circumstances – not only your words, but also the Scripture verses & translations you chose! And my favorite words of all — BUT GOD — Yes, I will & I do TRUST HIM & BELIEVE that only by His power will my circumstances change — I surrender ALL of the heavy burden of my present circumstances into His hands knowing only He has the power to change any of it. Accepting His peace as I surrender completely to Him. TRUSTING. BELIEVING. He has a plan & a purpose for me & in His perfect timing He will move …
Thank you, Linda … you are such a precious blessing from our LORD & SAVIOR! Hugs, Love, & Blessings ❤️

    1. Kathy Glor: I am so happy that there was something in there today that ‘hit the spot’ and ministered to you. Whatever your situation, Friend, take heart knowing that our Heavenly Father sees you, loves you and has His Best already in the works for you. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep pressing forward. There will be a testimony to be told and a celebration of GOD’s love. (((HUGS)))❤️
