How’s your day going so far, Friend? Did you wake up with a song in your heart? Or was rising out of bed difficult because you knew there would be unfinished business to tackle?
They say we choose our battles. What do you say?
If you were to ask me, I’d say I choose to let GOD fight my battles because I know that I know that I know I would not be able to make a dent in progress. It’s taken me a lifetime to be able to say that with confidence, but some of us are just a lil’ bit slower in that learning seat.
Years and years of frustration and coming up defeated or overwhelmed with it all led me to a pivot that changed it all. That pivot had me standing at the foot of the cross where Jesus met me. Baggage and trunkfuls of hurt, disappointment, pain … it was all stuffed in there; and I lugged it around. It’s no wonder I couldn’t stand to my feet to fight any of my battles — I was severely weighed down.
Then Jesus, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, looked me in the eyes with those Eyes … peeled each one of those weighted bags off my tired shoulders … and said, “Let me do that for you.”
for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ Deuteronomy 24:4 Amplified
It was hard to comprehend, much less believe it to be even possible. Someone would fight for me? Someone would defend me and take up my cause? Why would the GOD of all creation stoop down to do that for me — who am I that He would even consider me?
I have come to accept the truth of the matter is that when I am trusting Him with my life, I am living according to His Plan — He declared me worth dying for. And that settled it.
And you know what Friend? His track record speaks for itself. He’s never lost a battle.
I need that kind of confidence because on my own, I don’t have an ounce of it and I don’t have a fighting chance. But with Him, I can do all things.
Are you willing to let Jesus take on your battles?
It might feel weird at first — to rest in that faith — but that’s the amazing part. You are freed up to actually live your life knowing those crazy chaotic things are being dealt with on a higher level and will have resolve. In His timing and on His terms — it’s a done deal. And no regrets. No fear of error.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
