It’s a magnificent thing to know that while we don’t have a clue as to what’s happening beyond our next breath, GOD is for us, working it ALL out — not only for us, but for our good. There’s no better deal than that, Friend.
I don’t know about you, but there are some days … and there are SOME days … and then there are THOSE DAYS! Can I get an ‘Amen?’ Storms come up and sometimes out of nowhere. Yes, there are those climate currents that send their warning signals ahead of time that tell us to ‘take heed, storm warning.’ But I think you’ll agree, there are those totally unexpected moments in time where we are hit with a tsunami of unprecedented proportion. Leaving us standing on the shore wondering, ‘How in the world did that happen?’ And in disbelief, we are shell-shocked and numb as we attempt to pick up the fragments of what life once was.
As I type this, many people in the United States are running, evacuating, massive exodus to higher ground … there’s panic in response to Hurricane Ida. She is merciless in her quest to destroy. People are dying, missing and fleeing for their lives as the destruction continues.
35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” 36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. 38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” Mark 4: 35-41 NLT
The storms of life won’t stop flooding our space — not while we’re here to place a stake in the ground. As the closest friends to Jesus panicked, we too, have that same tendency to become fearful and worried about what happens next. But Jesus Christ has the power to calm every storm. We need only to trust Him IN it.
Take courage, Friend, and believe that He is working it all out for you. If you are IN Him, you have the assurance that you can trust Him for the best outcome — even if you don’t see immediate results of that trust. Keep trusting. Keep believing.
But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31 NET
We are praying for you.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
