You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise.
Come right into his presence with thanksgiving.
Come bring your thank offering to him
and affectionately bless his beautiful name! Psalm 100:4 The Passion Translation
I love how the Passion Translation expresses this verse in Psalm 100.
The gates can be considered the doorway, the hallway, the lobby into the presence of the Lord. So we are instructed to enter with praise on our lips. That is our password. The key that allows us admission.
With praise and thanksgiving in our hearts. This is our acceptable form of worship. Our offering of authentic gratitude for Who the Lord is: our Creator, Savior, Advocate, Provider, Healer … and more.
Beyond the customary praying over the grandiose meal prepared for us, consider the lifting of thanksgiving to the sustainer of our life, the very Breath in our lungs.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-8 NIV
It is my prayer for you this day, that you will join me in celebrating the Lord of Hosts, the King of Glory. Whether you are enjoying a soup and sandwich or a full day of feasting, He is the One to Whom our praises and thanksgiving are due. He is the only One worth the energy and preparation. He is the One that makes life worth living.
May you experience the beauty and blessing found only in the living GOD.
Happy Thanksgiving, my Friend ~~
I love you to Heaven and Back!
