Joy. Happiness. Ultimate satisfaction. Overflowing with gladness.

What brings you joy, Friend?

We are entering this season of Advent or Christmas preparation for the celebration and remembrance when love came down and lived among us. Not totally like us — He was sinless. Because He came to take ours away. He came in skin to show us GOD.

For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. John 6:38 NLT

More than just the mistletoe … grander than the light shows and parades … far more majestic than any tree adorned in lights and trimmings. Lasting beyond the last decoration that is packed away into storage.

In the obscure and lowest corner of the earth, there entered the Son of GOD into a broken world. His mission: to seek and to save the lost. Born to a teen mother and a working class father, He came at a time and in a place of political unrest. When cultures were strongly divided. Gender inequality and injustice were commonplace. Mankind was inclined to choose the bondage of destructive living rather than surrender to an unseen but faithful GOD.

I dare say that our day and time seems to mirror the time when Jesus set foot on this earth in human form.

So, how do we choose joy?

By choosing to receive the One Who came to give it in abundance.

A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect — life in its fullness until you overflow! John 10:10 The Passion Translation

We all have the free will of choice, Friend. Come … celebrate Joy!
