22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1:22-23 NIV
Immanuel — GOD with us. This is mind-blowing if you really stop to think about it. GOD. With. Us. A Holy and all-powerful GOD … chooses to take on the form of humanity. To live among us — those Whom He created.
This should strike a sense of incredible awe within your soul.
It’s so easy to place GOD in another place — out of sight, out of mind. But Jesus came down to show us the Father. Everything He said and did was for our benefit and out of pure love. Because GOD is love. Jesus wanted us to see that GOD loves us with an unconditional love — yes, no matter where we’ve been, what we’ve done — He still wants to be with us. He wants to restore us to that relationship with the Father — to the way things were meant to be.
That’s huge. That’s cause for excitement. That’s reason to celebrate.
He came to tell us that GOD even provided Himself as the payment for our sins. Doesn’t matter how ugly or messy that looks. Jesus came just for you. Just for me. Yes, it’s rather personal — He came for us individually.
Rejoice, Friend. There is no one else who would do that for you.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 NIV
Come … learn of Him … there’s so much love to experience …
