Gratitude. Thankfulness. Appreciation. Indebted.
These few words seem hardly matched to the two words that follow the emotion: Thank You.
There’s only one posture that my heart takes at the remembrance of what Christ has done for me and that’s bowed very low.
For the Believer, it’s a time of reckoning and remembering what it cost the Father to reconcile us back to Himself. Boils down to redemption through His Son Jesus Christ.
In a single act of surrender, Jesus paid the price for you and me, Friend. We were indebted to the Father because we came through the lineage of Adam — a sinful humanity. We are only here to say this because His Love for us spared us from death and brought us into relationship with GOD Almighty.
Some of us have many, many years of messy stuff that was worthy of pure condemnation. Some of us have fewer years worthy of the same condemnation.
Because all people have sinned, they have fallen short of God’s glory. Romans 3:23 GWT
But GOD …
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV
Because of what He’s done … we live.
