Lift Your Spirit

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29 ESV

“What will you choose to do?”

It’s a conscious decision that requires an answer — and the way we respond will determine the outcome of the steps that follow.

Quite honestly, this straight-to-the-point query has the power to bring the strongest hands to break out in profuse sweat. Without moving a muscle, it can cause the heart to go off beat or set on a pace that races out of control. In the quiet of an empty room, our thoughts can spiral out of control without the interruption of another human voice.

This understated question always meets us at the crossroad of decisions that, regardless of their importance to others, will set the course for our future. Seriously … when the rubber meets the road, if we mistakenly coast through the intersection without so much as a pause much less a complete stop, to allow for us to make a well thought out determination about to move forward … we risk it all.

GOD is right there, Sister. He is here in this moment.

So many, many times we think, “I’ve got this!” And eagerly as if racing towards a finish line, we leap into a fast-forward that lands us hitting up against the same wall that we’ve always seemingly struck, with a tank fueled by self-efforts.

His Word says that we don’t have to figure it all out — but He is here to help us through the journey. Sometimes that journey is through fog or a torrential downpour of sorts. I don’t navigate well in the fog, do you? For me, it’s like being blind with your eyes wide open. Yet the never-ending love of God keeps us safe and protected when we trust Him to lead and guide.

I like the simplicity of this song. Gets straight to the heart of the message without complications.

Let this praise move you through your day, making the choice to let God carry all your burdens.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
