I am a true creature of habit. It’s one of the greatest ways to organize my day and roll it out with fewer distractions and less to think about. Just follow the ingrained recipe and voilà, mission accomplished, almost in cruise control.
About a year ago, I was scrolling through the Beth Moore collection of teachings on video when I came across a most impressionable practice that she was describing to her audience. And it has stuck with me since.
It goes something like this: As you rise out of bed, before your feet hit the floor, give thanks to the Lord for giving you today. Using all physical motions to interact with the thoughts of the mind, it’s much like the infamous “Head, shoulders, knees and toes” rhyme that you would sing with your preschool children.
Placing my hands upon my head I say, “Lord, I give you my mind and the thoughts I choose to. keep.” Placing my hands upon my eyes I say, “Lord, I give you my eyes — help me to see what You want me to see today.” Placing my hands upon my ears I say, “Lord, I give you my ears — help me to hear Your Voice throughout the day.” Placing my hands upon my heart I say, “Lord, I give you my heart — fill it with Your love that I might pour it out.” Holding out my hands palms up I say, “Lord, I give you these hands, place the work You want done in them.” Lifting up my feet I say, “Lord I give you these feet, please take me where You want me to go.”
Now, this is my personal version of the Beth Moore lesson, but I have made it mine and refer to it as my daily rededication of the temple.
19 Don’t you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don’t belong to yourselves. 1 Corinthians 6:19 GWT
All my members — from head to toe — are rededicated in service to the Lord. And just as we members, of the Body of Christ, need to remind ourselves of the refresh every morning, it’s a humble gesture at the very least.
22
It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed,
Because His [tender] compassions never fail.
23
They are new every morning;
Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 Amplified

So, whether you choose to join me in my little moment as we rise every morning, or if you have another way to start your day mindful of the gift of the present, I encourage you to do something that will leave you with a lasting remembrance of Whom you are loved and cherished.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~

LOVE this & I will be incorporating it into my “routine” going forward. Thank you for reminding me of this blessing to dedicate myself to Him before my feet hit the floor every morning! ❤️

kathygcurry: It may take a long time to adopt, but make it your own, Sister. I believe it sets the tone for the rest of the day in the few short moments.

Head & shoulders, knees, & toes, knees & toes.
God, He made us all of those, all of those.
Let us focus on our blessings, not our woes.
Let me not focus on jewelry & clothes.
Help me make healthy choices so my waist doesn’t grow.
Out of my mouth I hope your wisdom flows.
Lord: Be the direction in how my day goes. How it goes…
In every choice & doors that open or they close.
Be still and know- take the time to slow. Time to slow.
Head & shoulders, knees & toes.
Eyes & ears, hair and nose.
My Lord Jesus, He made all of those.
Through me let your Holy Spirit glow. Let Him glow!
All our prayers He already knows.
So let’s go! Here it goes…Here I go! 🎶
