Turning back. When do we finally realize we need to do a 180-degree turn?
We go through life sometimes in auto-pilot. Not giving much thought to the things we do, the people we choose to be around, the decisions we make. Just going from day to day — almost oblivious to the impact and rippling effect our cavalier attitude has on the people in our midst and the long lasting effect on our future.
Repentance. More than just an apology. Beyond a casual “I’m sorry.” A sincere and humble leaving behind of those things, activities, behaviors, lifestyle choices that are contrary to what we know to be true and right. And leaving it for good.
Commitment. A conscious decision that says “I’m in” for the rest of my life at any cost. An unwavering willful resolve to stay the course no matter what.
If these words frighten you, perhaps this is the moment of pause that has long gone ignored. Maybe … just maybe … GOD is nudging you … whispering to your spirit … to consider where you stand in your faith. In your relationship with Him.
