Lift Your Spirit – “Grateful”

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100 NIV

An attitude of gratitude. It shifts and changes everything.

If we rise out of our slumber not having had adequate sleep because we spent the night tossing and turning the wrestling matches in our minds over the turmoil of the day,, there’s the likely probability that our crankiness will bleed into the day and everyone will be on the receiving end of the unseen storm.

It’s pretty hard to be grateful and hateful in the same breath. I doubt that we could be so talented to pull that off, much less convincing to an onlooking world.

Let’s take a moment to just pause. Imagine stepping into an environment that is founded on truth, peace and calm. Those are the fruits of having dealt with the angst in our hearts — working through the forgiveness that feels like a backed up pipe ready to implode.

A heart of gratitude lifts your altitude and perhaps your vision as well.

Even when we are faithless He is forever Faithful. Thank GOD He doesn’t think like we do. His Mercy endures forever. Humans are least likely to pour out mercy — we’re more apt to demand what we feel others owe us, forgetting that we have been forgiven.

Today just may be a turning point for you as you let this song speak to your soul. I know it has helped melt and soften some rough edges for me. It will take a lot of practice, but I’m sure GOD will honor our every attempt and empower us to keep going one grateful step at a time.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
