Lift Your Spirit – “Rest On Us”

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26 ESV

Jesus promised that He would never leave us, and that when His physical body returned to Heaven, the Holy Spirit would come to live in every believer. That was GOD’s fulfillment of His promise to each one of us that accepted His Son, Jesus, as Savior. The Holy Spirit seals us as Children of GOD when we surrender our lives.

This fresh wind that breathes life into our deflated lungs is the very breath of GOD that empowers us to live holy and transformed lives. Yes, we can live a holy life but only by the power of GOD. Sounds crazy, I know, but it’s all true. Take note: a holy life in human form on earth is not a perfect life — but it is holy because it is surrendered and sanctified (translated: “set aside for a holy purpose). It is made possible by the Holy One Himself. Any other attempt at trying to live a “good life” will never be good enough. We have to invite Goodness in, in order for any good to flow out.

Those old desires begin to fade because when we truly surrender ourselves to GOD, He does the work of cleaning us up. We lose the cravings to do the wrong things. Our perspective on life takes on a different view. We may redefine what is valuable to us. We see things in light of eternity, rather than a short-sighted view of the temporal. Coming to terms with the price Jesus paid on the cross tends to bring everything into focus.

We need a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. Living life on earth where our hands and feet get dirty from handling secular circumstances — just the daily grind, Friend — is exhausting. And GOD knew we would need His constant presence so He remains in us to keep us going the journey. No human effort could ever suffice.

Take a moment to ask the Holy Spirit to fill you anew with a fresh wind to see life from His perspective and experience the most phenomenal day ever. And perhaps this will become your new habit.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
