Lift Your Spirit – “Battle Belongs”

⁴ for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ Deuteronomy 20:4 ESV

⁶ Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” ⁸ It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 ESV

If you’re like me, you need reminders like this. I know that GOD is for me, however, I don’t always live from that place of victory. To be honest, more often than I care to admit, I have lived from a place of defeat – before I even set my foot out the front door. Not exactly the best start to the day.

However, in recent days, GOD has been ministering to my spirit. He has been whispering to me and revealing to me where I have allowed the enemy to infiltrate my boundaries and steal my joy. The more I saw myself doing these destructive things, I began to get real about how I was going to live more like I actually believed the promises of GOD. His promises to go in front of me (way ahead of me) and fight those battles for me – because He loves me. And that was when things began to change.

I don’t have it perfected, but I can say that my heart is catching up to my mind. And that is resulting in a peace that passes all understanding. I’m learning how to experience calm in the midst of the storm. Refusal to let my focus be distracted or derailed, I can remain committed to depending on the Lord. My surrender has become quite empowering. It is in that surrender that I can do all things through Christ – because He strengthens me.

Come and take a praise break with me. These few minutes will refresh and renew your spirit as you sing aloud – yes, go ahead, Sister, let the world hear your testimony!

May you live out the rest of your day in victory – Jesus has already accomplished the work.
