For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:4 NIVPraise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Psalm 146:1-2 ESV
While many folks are akin to attributing and relegating worship of GOD to the musical celebration during a service, worship is actually how you live out your life.
It is in the construct of how you choose to behave, respond (or react), treat others, speak (or remain silent), write, sing, dance … all the things! Whatever you do on a daily basis (regular routine), it is that with which you are worshipping the Lord.
Let that sit with you for a bit.
So, here is where we must examine: “Is my praise only superficial and in the company of others (because that’s the thing to do)?” Or, “Is my praise evident in the worship of my daily living and honoring to the Lord?”
Our testimony is not merely a declaration that we document and proclaim on paper, nor is it shared in a formal setting to those giving us audience. Our testimony is who we are after we’ve met Jesus, because He begins that transformation in that moment. All that stuff that happened in the past in our BC (before Christ) days is behind us and lays only contrasting groundwork from which we move forward. We refer to it, but we don’t dwell on it. This is when Jesus “borrows our skin” (if I may say that).
With all that said, as we raise praise in community, is it done with utmost integrity? Have we lived the prior seven days as if we consciously knew we were seen by a holy GOD?
As we listen to this song, let us humble ourselves with self-examination and be fully aware that we are making an intentional decision to praise the living GOD and sing with the ♥️ and spirit He created.
