Lift Your Spirit ~ “Slow Down”

But those who trust in the Lord for help
    will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not get weary;
    they will walk and not grow weak. Isaiah 40:31 GNT

Sometimes we need to intentionally quiet ourselves and purposely slow down.

Could it be that you needed to hear those words, in this present moment, because it is imperative that you attend to your soul and your spirit and body are desperate for reprieve?

It’s possible that you’ve been running on fumes out of your own demise.

Let me lovingly call you out, Friend.

Perhaps this is a call to a mandatory slow down … before it becomes involuntary.

Whatever you’re running from, the Lord is calling you out … so that you’ll run towards Him to fill that longing ~ that void that you’ve been trying to satisfy with all the extra-curricular activities (the partying, the hanging out with the wrong crowd, the addictive behaviors, the excessive eating or spending, the late-night movie binges, the countless excuses for scrolling social media updates into the early morning hours as you sacrifice much needed sleep).

No judgement here, but maybe this is a moment to really examine what you’re pursuing and ask yourself if it’s all worth the energy you’re pouring into it.

Sweet Friend … stop the madness … stop chasing the wind … slow your pace … take a pause break … let the Lover of your soul fill you up and restore what has been depleted and stolen from you.

Jesus doesn’t stand to condemn you ~ and He’s not trying to stand in your way of what you may think is progress or a good time.

He stands beside you to defend and protect you. And sometimes that’s protection from yourself and wrong choices.

His Arms are open to receive His Daughter and offers you more than you could ever think to ask for. He’s offering you refuge and solace from whatever is plaguing your heart, mind, and soul.

Come now … slow down … and breathe in Holy Spirit peace … exhale holy calm.

Sit with Him and just be … remember: you’re a human be-ing, not a human do-ing. No performance required.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
