As a young mother, I strived to raise my children to be good citizens and assets to society. I was able to be a stay-at-home mom and credited their success from my devotion to them. When we brought my dying mother to care for her in our home, I began to realize there was something my children had that I did not.
My daughter and son each came to know the Lord on their own while in middle school. As a senior and a sophomore in college, I saw them caring for my mom with the utmost love and hope. After my mom’s death, I was devastated but my children were calm and at peace.
Soon after, God began to work on my heart and I saw clearly for the first time His hand on my children and their ten plus years praying for me to know His Son.
Reborn at 50 years of age, my eyes and heart now saw life through the Holy Spirit. My quest began to save a failing marriage and to be the wife God willed me to be. I desired to serve at church and study the Word, to love and be a godly influence on my grandchildren, and to pray for my husband’s salvation. Eighteen years since my salvation, I attend church with my saved husband whom I love more now than ever before and my son, his wife and two grandsons. My prayers, love and hope are now focused on my prodigal daughter, her husband and my two young grandsons for I put my trust in the Lord.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
About Lena Hayashi:
Lena is a native Californian married to her childhood sweetheart. They will be married 46 years in October. They have two children and four grandsons. Her children brought Lena to the Lord eighteen years ago and since then, she has used her God-given gifts to serve Christ and the environment.
On a Personal Note:
Lena is one of the most genuine people I know. Whenever and wherever there’s a need, she is there, willing to fill it. While we may not frequently see each other, when we do “bump into one another,” it’s just like yesterday. Lena is a woman that is genuinely warm and friendly ~~ once you meet her, you won’t forget her.
Lena ~~ Thank you for your transparency and sharing this precious part of your life. My heart is warmed by the fact your own children prayer for your salvation ~~ and now you can impact the lives of your grandchildren. Blessings to you!

Marlene ~~
What a pleasure to “meet you ” here, at TitusTwoTraining.org! The purpose of the blog site is to bring women of all ages and experiences together under one roof ~~ to SHARE and LOVE on each other with godly wisdom ~~ the older ones being called to step forward to “mentor” (as The Lord sees fit) to instruct as in the Book of Titus. I feel the need to draw the generational lines closer together in an effort to ENCOURAGE and UPLIFT. As life is in a fallen world, not all of us have had godly examples or friends in our past ~~ making for a difficult and very challenging future. It is my deepest desire to nurture these precious “ones coming up behind me” and help them make decisions as God would want them to ~~ by drawing nearer to Him through us.
I would appreciate the opportunity to reach others through You, Marlene ~~ kindly spread the word that we are here!
