September is notably the back-to-school month in the United States. And it’s also one of high stress for many, many people who are responsible for the activities that contribute to that season.
Mothers, teachers, bus drivers, crossing guards, parking guards, administrators, custodians, groundskeepers, tutors, daycare workers, playground attendants … the list is endless and almost sounds as if the entire town is involved. And that’s about right.
I won’t invite you into a discussion about how and why things are ‘different’ this year in this season — I’m sure we can all stroke with highlighter markers those things that are challenging us. The main thing is that it’s work — that hasn’t changed. But when have we not had to do the work GOD has purposed for us to do?
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT
We are gifted with skills and talents to serve one another with encouragement and resources. This day as we send our children off to school, take the time to say a thirty-second prayer for the adults that are keeping your child safe, providing them with a good learning experience, transporting them to and from school, assuring that the environment is clean and tidy and helping them to feel loved, welcomed and invited.
“Father GOD, we thank you for the opportunity and privilege to send our children to school so that they can ultimately grow into the responsible and contributing adults of the next generation. We pray for the administration that will be making decisions on behalf of our children. We pray for the behind the scenes personnel that are often overlooked or forgotten. Give each one of these adults the energy, wisdom and encouragement to do their jobs well. We pray for safety as each child ventures off to have a positive learning experience so that they desire to continue expanding their knowledge. We trust You, Lord, and thank You for the countless number of people that come together to make it all happen. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
