Lift Your Spirit ~ “More Like Jesus”

He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30 ESV

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV

When you look into the mirror, who do you see? Naturally, your answer would be ‘you,’ So, is that the image you want others to see? Are you content with who you actually see staring back at you in that mirror?

As I listened to the deep words of this worship song, it ministered to my soul. Because if I’m honest, I would have to examine whether my intention to live is to become more like the Person I am drawn towards, influenced by, taught by, comforted by … the Person whose lifestyle far exceeds all the other so-called examples walking and talking around me. It’s no secret that we become like the ones with whom we spend the most time.

So, I circle back to that image reflected in the mirror. Is she remaining stagnant? Is she leaning towards advice that ‘sounds good’ but conflicts with her inner compass? Is she being influenced by a Power that stands alone as absolute Truth and Sovereign, and allowing it to be the greatest impact in her life? Is she making decisions that will keep her moving forward and avoiding the temptation to look back?

It’s time to get real, Sweet Friend, and perhaps make some hard choices. Some of those choices may not go over well with people in your present circle. Maybe some of those people need to be on the other side of a safe boundary so that you can move forward and become more like Jesus — that is, if that is your intention.

To become more like Jesus is not something to take lightly. As with all relationships of value, it will require time, effort and commitment. You can’t be a Jesus Follower with a drive-thru attitude. And that commitment is what will determine how much you value what He has done for you. There’s so much more available to you if you are willing to go there with Him.

Hit the replay on this one throughout your day — I believe it will cause you to reflect on the magnitude of what GOD has done for you.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~

  1. I like this one! I’m beginning to like who I see in that mirror. Yup, Christ lives in me now… It’s not gonna be temporary. The enemy has a hard time tempting. He flees! More time with Jesus, I am strong, yet gentle. ❤️Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device
