Genesis 18:12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?”
Driving home from work and pondering over my mental to-do list, I was reminded of the projects which the Lord has called me to accomplish. No sacriligeous disrespect intended, but the thought still taps me on the brain: “Me, Lord? I’m not as young as I used to be and You have all those younger ones to choose from …”
Girlfriend, have you ever wondered if you’ve heard God correctly? Am I the only one out here that thinks maybe she ‘misunderstood’ the voice of God? Have you ever second guessed His Will for your life? Do you tend to compare yourself to the accomplishments of others and think, ‘I’m not so sure that God really wants me to do this?’
Exodus 4:11-13 Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.”
The following verse says that God became angry with Moses ~~ and that’s where my heels come to a grinding halt.
Both Sarah and Moses doubted their role in God’s Plan. I am guilty of this many, MANY times over. Both didn’t question the magnitude and power of God ~~ upfront, that is ~~ but they questioned His Decision to use them.
I’ll be the first to admit that the person I see in the mirror every morning is not who I would elect to perform the things that God has asked me to do. She has insecurities, she doesn’t always say the right things, she sometimes hesitates to do what she knows to be the appropriate thing to do, she doesn’t have all the knowledge needed to do many tasks as well as she could, she needs to manage her time and resources much better, and many times she forgets what God has done for and through her.
Nope, I truly would not cast my vote for her.
Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
I like to lean on this verse whenever I start to question my role in God’s Divine Plan. You know why? It says that even the young men will fall in exhaustion; even youths will become weak and tired; so it’s not just me! But I love how it also declares that those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
It’s time, Girlfriend, to rise up and say ‘yes’ to God’s Assignment(s) for you. And I’ll be standing right beside you doing the same thing! Let’s do this!
I love you to Heaven and Back,

Christy ~~ Sounds like you just “exhaled” into that comment! I hope and pray that whatever your current situation, Girlfriend, you’ll let “the peace that passes all understanding” to simply POUR all over you. Love you to Heaven and Back, Sweet Sister of mine!
