And there is no fruit on the vines,

Though the flock is cut off from the fold
And there is no cattle in the stalls,
18 Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the LORD;
I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation!
19 The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army];
He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet
And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].

“Disappointment” can be defined: The feeling of sadness or displeasure caused by the no fulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations.
Well, there’s the perfect textbook explanation for the lousy feeling in your stomach, isn’t it?
Let me share a life experience for a moment in time here, may I? Pull up a seat and lean in with me …
I had been planning for an Event ~~ several guests were invited and big plans for successful engagement. You know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever planned surprise parties or children’s birthday parties or family gatherings. Several immediate “yes-es” from the word “GO,” and many “I’m-planning-on-it” responses. So I continued to operate, moving forward with ‘my plans.’
Time passed, and as I moved toward requesting definitive commitments of attendance, the replies waned and fell by the wayside ~~ anticipation turned into deflated defeat ~~ DISAPPOINTMENT.
Upon wallowing in a bath of self-pity, 🙈, I’m being utterly transparent here, Girlfriend, God showed me the Scripture passage above during my morning time with Him.
COMFORT. RELIEF. FORGIVENESS. REPENTANCE. DEPENDENCE. STRENGTH. WISDOM.
My soul is then TRANSFORMED in an INSTANT ~~ as I allowed The Holy Spirit to minister to me.
Conviction: “Can I get an AMEN, from ANYONE bold enough to raise her hand in agreement with me?”
Repentance: “I was moving at light-speed with my SELFISH desires leading the way.”
But GOD … Ah, those two words …
Revealed that what seemingly appeared to be a “disappointment” on the surface, was actually His Divine Appointment ~~ to refocus my sights and goals to HIS Purpose.
As the Amplified translation says: “I CHOOSE” ~~ to not be disappointed ~~ but to REJOICE in the God of my salvation. And while the events may NOT happen as I expected, ‘the lack of blooms and fruits,’
GOD IS FAITHFUL.
Look deeper, Girlfriend ~~ it’s very possibly Divine Appointment!
