I. Love. My. Girlfriends!
Proverbs 18:24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
Words can hardly express the deep gratification and satisfaction of the human soul for ones true friends. And be sure to make that distinction, Sister, as the verse above cautions us.
My closest Girlfriends have seen me and been with me at my worst ~~ oy vey! Mentally, emotionally, and physically ~~ feeling like a train wreck (and even looking like one). With no makeup and uncovered gray ~~ emotionally distraught and falling apart.
But they’re still here.
I am BLESSED.
See how we are ALL unique, and yet we are ALL so close ~~ Our Creator gave us the awesome opportunity to be able to lift up one another in the darkest of times and in the joyous of times.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
And throughout the years we have been doing just that.
I’ll confess right here and now that it has not always been easy for me to do that. I’ve had to learn how to cultivate relationships and nurture them. So Girlfriends of mine, forgive me for those moments that I fell short of meeting your needs ~~ I am still learning how to navigate my way through self-centered old habits. It’s not as bad as it used to be, but still yet imperfect. And even in that, y’all still continue to love me as your sister.
Thank you! Thank God!!
I may not have the luxury of “blood relation” sisters, however, as God has spoken, you all are closer than such.
Family dynamics can really do “a number” on us, especially in life ~~ and the earlier in life that we have to experience the peculiarities of personalities, and the adult-sized matters of life, the more complicated the Journey as we children have to sort through all this.
But God …………
Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
And we were able to cling hard and fast to His Redemptive Power and experience the beginnings of Restoration. No matter how difficult or ugly our past may have been …
And to”find” one another and say, “sister.”
I am overjoyed to say I have you in my life today ~~ and I hope that we can continue to dance this Journey together until the sun sets for us here on earth and The Lord takes us to the grand celebration in Heaven ~~ for it is there we will rejoice in the One Who defines true relationships.
I pray that YOU have a love Relationship with the Savior this day, Girlfriend. And if you don’t, let me help you ~~ there’s a Community of Girlfriends right here waiting to embrace you into the Family of God.
If relationships have besieged your heart in the past (as recent as last night even), come here and unload. It’s safe here. I have lots of “tissue” and “strong shoulders” with which to hold you up and mop up the tears. Trust me, I have felt the brokenness and have spent many, many years trying to “sweep up the mess.”
Cleaning house can often be BEST accomplished with a Friend who will help you throw out the garbage and de-clutter your life of unnecessary stuff.
