“The Hard Thing.”

No sooner said than done ~~ I had / have been wrestling (and it ain’t over yet) with this “difficult” person in my life ~~ I took a step of faith and asked God to help me reach out to her in LOVE ~~ and this Scripture verse appears in my morning reading …

Ever feel this way, Girlfriend? Where, in the deepest recesses of your heart, you constantly struggle with loving a difficult person? But you KNOW that God calls you to do this very thing …

It. Is. So. Hard.

I consider myself a relatively strong person (physically) for my size and age. But no amount of strength training has ever matched the need required to fully and genuinely love this difficult person.

So when I prayed this morning, with her on my heart, God whispered this verse through my eyes so that I could SEE 👀 it as well as hear it’s purpose. Old wounds have a way of reopening in the presence of hurt and anger and resentment and bitterness …

And I think God wants to clean out the old wounds (that never healed) …

If I am willing

Can you relate??

I don’t know about you, but God has “this way” of communicating with me so that I get His Message ~~ and I must say it works every time. But it doesn’t make the required action any easier ~~ in fact, it’s downright “convicting.”

To. The. Core.

I cringe at what He asks of me through all this. ~~ because it ultimately means I have to swallow my pride and “let it go.” He asks that I TRUST Him with the strength to follow through ~~ but am I willing? This person has hurt me ~~ emotionally ~~ several times over ~~ how can I possibly “let it go?”

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

If I am a Jesus Follower, the character profile is clear ………
John 14:15-16 “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

The Holy Spirit is my Advocate ~~ so that even if the difficult person refuses to accept my attempts at “reaching out” to her, or if I “misinterpret” her responses, He comforts me. But I cannot escape verse 15.
Pray with me and I will pray with you, Girlfriend ~~ for ALL the “difficult people” in our lives ~~ it’s a long journey, and a long time to hold on to hurts from the past (even if the past was just moments ago).

Freedom to “let it go” frees up our hands to RECEIVE God’s Blessings and to grow along this Journey.

Will you join me?
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
There’s God’s Invitation ~~ I think it’s time …
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
