Psalm 34:1-6 I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together. I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
Ever feel like you just want to escape into a blanket and let the world go on without you ~~ even just for the day?
I know that feeling ~~ when I feel so overwhelmed that the dialogue in my head starts off with, “I so do not feel it today.”
This Psalm speaks words that are hard to receive when you’re feeling weighed down and heavily burdened ~~ but David encourages us by telling us to get “out of our funky mood” by praising God for Who He is.
He is a great. He hears our prayers. He frees me from my fears. He replaces my shame with joy. He saves me from my troubles.
Wherever you are, Girlfriend, let God wrap you up in His Love ~~ receive His blanket of Comfort and experience wholeness from the inside out.
Life situations are tough ~~ but His Love is tougher than anything you could possibly be wrestling with at this moment. And I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you, Sister, agreeing that there are those moments where we just want to escape beneath the anesthetizing false offers from the world.
It. Is. Not. Worth. It.
Run to the One Who loves you beyond your present situation ~~ in Him there IS hope for your today and your tomorrow.
And you just might be surprised at what He does through you for the ones coming up behind you.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
